How to Change Outlook.com Password ?

Outlook.com was at the top of news during the time of its launch. Well, it’s obvious as it comes from the technology brand, Microsoft. Many people have joined the new email service and the response has been good so far. Email has become online identification and a token to use all services on Internet. Security has always been a big issue with the email accounts. Your email account is more than just a normal inbox. If hacked or accessed by someone else, it can land you to bunch of problems.

To protect your account, password must be strong and hard to guess. Most of people just pick up their name or surnames to use as pass and such people come in the never ending queue of fool people. I hope you are not among them.

Password used with your email account must be a mix up of letters and numbers. It must be at least 8 characters long. Also you should keep changing it frequently. Oh! you want to apply all these security tips on your account and don’t know that how you can easily change Outlook.com password ? Come on, you need not to worry as I’m up with this post on explaining the process to changing password. So let’s have a look at it.

  •  Hover your mouse to settings cog that you can find on the top right side of page.
  • Click on it and a drop down menu with some options will get opened.
  • Click on the ‘More Mail Settings’ to open options page.
  • There you can find many options categorize under appropriate Sub-Headings.
  • Under the ‘Managing Your Account’ click ‘Account details ( addresses, time zone).’
  • On the page that opens, you can see the heading ‘Security Info’.
  • Click on the ‘Change Password‘ option and it will take you to next step in the process to change your Outlook.com password.
  • Enter the current password that you are using with your Outlook account
  • In the next two tabs, enter the new one that you wish to use with your Outlook.com. Of course, both passwords must be same.
  • You can also check the box to set changing reminder for every 72 days. Well, this step is optional and depends solely on you.
  • Click ‘Save’ .

Your old password will get changed to new one in no time. Were you expecting more steps? Sorry, it’s all finish now. Your pass is changed. From now on, you need to enter the new one, in order to access your Outlook.com account.

According to me you should to this steps time to time to ensure full security of accounts. Say, you are using much other services like Credit card or any other third party things then it will directly affect your all accounts. As that malicious person can do anything with your inbox and can even expose your personal privacy.

I hope you found this tutorial simple to follow. If you face any problem during the process , then give us a chance to serve you by solving your doubts. Drop them in the comments below.
